GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions
Why do you score EPA and DHA instead of total fish oil?
Because "fish oil" milligrams can be mostly inert carrier oil. We score the actual combined EPA and DHA per serving against a clinical reference floor taken from the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements — the number that determines whether a serving is meaningfully dosed. How scoring works: /glp-1-supplements/methodology/.
What does third-party testing add to an omega-3 score?
Omega-3 oils can oxidize, and an oxidized oil isn't what the label promises. Independent verification programs (such as IFOS) test for content and freshness, so products carrying them earn verification points; products without them show that factor as unverified rather than assumed fine.
Is a higher omega-3 dose always better while on a GLP-1 medication?
We don't score "more is better," and we don't make blanket intake recommendations — the right amount for you, and whether an omega-3 supplement makes sense at all, is a prescriber conversation. Our floor only separates meaningfully dosed products from under-dosed ones. We earn nothing on any pick.
